As you know Pam sadly passed away on the 14th of August this year.

Pam and her daughter Becky moved into their Burton built house (No.10) in Golf Side in 1994. She immediately made friends with many neighbours and began to take a keen interest in maintaining the character of the road and its upkeep.

In 1996 Pam took over the Chairmanship of the Golf Side Residents’ Association and worked tirelessly for 21 years to make our road the best in the area. She would always personally welcome new residents and would walk the road almost every day to monitor its condition and to consider potential improvements. She won several major battles with Planning to prevent undesirable developments in the road and this demonstrated her unwavering spirit and determination.

Pam would regularly call in on residents and was always ready to help-out when it was needed. She maintained records of the history of Golf Side and was readily available to explain this history when residents required information.

When Steven took over from her as Chairman of the GSRA, Pam continued to help the Committee to fulfil its role by attending meetings and acting as its advisor. Pam’s contribution in making Golf Side such a desirable road was enormous and over the years she became a close friend of many residents.

Pam’s burial was in Epsom Cemetery, and those who attended were given Allium bulbs to plant in their gardens in her memory.

She will be much missed by Golf Side and by all who knew her.
